The Gothic Tour
Discover Jewish life in Barcelona, past and present
Tour of the Jewish Quarter and Casa Adret
The Story of the Jews in Spain is fascinating and complex, from the ‘golden era’ in the South, the glory of Cordoba and the tumultuous final in Granada. However, what was happening in Catalonia, this north eastern corner of the peninsula? Â
Â
Delve into the fascinating story of the Catalan Jews as we walk through the old Jewish neighborhood, el Call. We’ll explore Jewish life in the Barcelona aljama, local traditions and social relationships. You’ll meet poet Moshe Natan, merchant Massot Avengena, Rabbi Solomon Adret, the significance of 1391 attacks and more, all in the enchanting streets of the Gothic Quarter. You’ll also get exclusive access to Casa Adret, an architectural gem and one of the few physical traces of Medieval Jewish life left in the city and hear more about Barcelona’s current community and projects happening in this community space.
Â
To end this tour, we welcome you to join us for a refreshing drink on Casa Adret’s rooftop terrace, whether it's cold water, cup of tea or glass of local Vermut, where you can enjoy incredible views of the city.Â
What you’ll get:
2 hour comprehensive tour of the Call and its Jewish history
